I had a bit of a mess yesterday in the lab — I grabbed a beaker straight off the hot plate and forgot it wasn’t heat-resistant glass. It cracked right down the middle and spilled my entire solution. Thankfully, it didn’t burn me, but cleaning up was a nightmare. Got me thinking… What are some mistakes people usually make with glassware? I’ve probably done more than I realize without knowing.

This reminds me of the time our intern used a funnel that still had acetone residue to pour in a water-based reagent. Nothing exploded, but the smell… unreal. Some people don’t realize how important those tiny details are until it’s too late.
